Minuman Kedelai Menghindari Diri dari Menopause

Seorang mahasiswa doktor pangan di IPB, Hery Winarsi, telah menemuka khasiat minuman tradisional berbahan baku kedelai terhadap perlambatan menopause pada wanita. Menopause merupakan perubahan yang paling nyata pada wanita yang memasuki akhir masa reproduksi serta masa tua. Umumnya menopause terjadi pada wanita berusia 48-50 tahun. Pada masa ini terjadi perdarahan fisiologis yang terakhir. Fase ini masih dikendalikan ovarium. Ovarium mengalami penurunan fungsi dan ukuran sehingga hormon estrogen dan progesteron yan gdiihasilkan secara siklik mulai menurun. Akibatnya, fase ini memengaruhi kelancaran haid. Gejala menopause dapat berupa semburan panas dari dada hingga wajah, keringatan di malam hari, rasa cemas, penurunan daya ingat, susah tidur, mudah capek, dan sering buang air kecil.

Minuman yang terbuat dari bahan kedelai kaya akan isoflavon dan Zn. Menurut Heri, struktur molekul kedelai mirip dengan estrogen endogen sehingga isoflavon mampu berikatan dengan reseptor estrogen. Pada akhirnya, isoflavon dapat menggantikan fungsi estrogen. Oleh karena fungsi dan nilai ekonomis miinuman berbahan dasr kedelai tersebut cukup rendah, minuman ini sangat bagus untuk menghindarkan diri dari menopause.

Kelainan/Penyakit Pada Sistem Reproduksi Manusia

Seperti halnya pada sistem organ yang lain, sistem reproduksi juga dapat mengalami gangguan atau menderita suatu penyakit. Gangguan atau penyakit tersebut antara lain:

(1) Kanker Prostat, yaitu kanker yang menyerang kelenjar prostat pada laki-laki, dapat diobati dengan pembedahan.

(2) Impotensi, yaitu kondisi dimana pria tidak mampu mencapai ereksi. Keadaan itu disebabkan oleh konsumsi alkohol dan obat-obatan tertentu.

(3) Premenstruasi sindrom (PMS), yaitu sindrom yang dialami perempuan menjelang masa menstruasi. Tanda-tanda sindrom ini diantaranya emosi tidak stabil, perut terasa kembung/sakit, dan suhu badan sedikit meningkat.

(4) Kanker leher rahim (Cervix), yaitu kanker yang menyerang leher rahim. Dapat dicegah dengan melakukan pemeriksaan berkala pada dokter kandungan.

(5) Menopause terjadi akibat penurunan jumlah estrogen yang dihasilkan ovarium. Umumnya terjadi pada perempuan berumur 46 tahun ke atas.

Alat Keseimbangan Manusia (Equilibrial Organs)

Alat keseimbangan berbentuk kantung kecil sakulus dan utrikulus. Utrikulus memiliki 3 saluran setengah lingkaran. Bagian pangkal saluran setengah lingkaran membesar dan dinamakan ampula. Di dalam ampula terdapat cairan endolimfa dan batu keseimbangan dari zat kapur disebut otolit. Di dalam ampula juga terdapat saraf keseimbangan. Saraf keseimbangan di ampula saraf pendengaran di koklea bersatu membentuk saraf otak ke-8.

Mekanisme keseimbangan dimulai denga kondisi posisi tubuh. Posisi ini akan memengaruhi cairan endolimfa dalam ampula sehingga otolit akan bergerak. Gerakan ini akan memengaruhi sel saraf keseimbangan pada stratoreseptor.

Gangguan pada alat pendengar dapat berupa tuli saraf dan tuli konduksi. Tuli saraf terjadi karena kerusakan saraf auditori (pendengar). Adapun tuli konduksi terjadi, antara lain karena penyumbatan saluran telinga oleh serumen, penebalan ataupun pecahnya membran timpani, pengapuran tulang pendengaran (otosklerosis), dan kekakuan hubungan antara tulang sanggurdi dan tingkap oval.
